EarthWool™ Duct Wrap
Description
Knauf EarthWool Duct Wrap is a new generation of ‘super soft’ and highly sustainable glasswool
and an ideal solution for external duct insulation. Knauf EarthWool Duct Wrap is a thermal and acoustical insulation blanket made from highly resilient, inorganic glass fibres bonded with ECOSE® Technology. It is available nude, or with medium or heavy duty foil facing.
Application
Knauf Insulation EarthWool Duct Wrap is used as external insulation on commercial or residential
heating or air conditioning ducts. It is suitable for the exterior of rectangular or round sheet metal
ducts and spaces or surfaces where temperature and condensation must be controlled.
Condensation control can be achieved when the product is faced with a foil of the appropriate duty
classification.
Bio-solubility
Glasswool insulation fibres have been tested in laboratory studies according to EC protocols ECB/ TM27
REV. 7, 1998 and shown to be bio-soluable. KNS3 fibres comply with the short term biopersistence test
and fulfill the requirements of Australian and international authorities on biosolubility.

ECOSE® Technology
Knauf Insulation’s EarthWool™ products with ECOSE® Technology benefit from a formaldehyde-free
binder made from rapidly renewable bio-based materials instead of petroleum-based chemicals which
is up to 70% less energy intensive. The technology has been developed for Knauf Insulation’s glass
and rock mineral wool products, enhancing their environmental credentials without affecting the thermal,
acoustic or fire performance. Insulation products made with ECOSE Technology contain no dye or
artificial colours – the colour is completely natural.
